Vinous Media (91)- "The 2017 Barolo Boiolo is soft and open-knit in its first impression, but there is a good bit of tannin lurking beneath. Dried cherry, tobacco, leather, spice and herbs lend quite a bit of aromatic complexity. This is an attractive 2017. Drink it over the next decade, give or take."
Falstaff Magazine (94)- "Elegant, bright ruby red. Very frank on the nose, of ripe cherries and ripe plums, underlined by a hint of walnut, with an aftertaste of dried figs. Expressive on the palate and with ripe fruit, spreads beautifully over the palate, with tightly woven tannins and a rich arch, long finish."
Decanter (91)- "Malvira is a major producer of Roero and Arneis, but in recent years it has also made this Barolo from a vineyard in La Morra, aged in tonneaux. The red-fruited nose is delicate and perfumed, while the attack combines juiciness and freshness,. Overall it's a lean style, yet it doesn't lack a degree of volume and weight. The finish is spicy, complex and quite long. It is easily the best vintage of this wine I have encountered."
