Wine Advocate (94)- "The Contratto 2016 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Blanc de Noir Pas Dosé For England (packaged in a heavy glass bottle) reveals an extra layer of spice on the bouquet. The wine starts off with pretty apricot and orchard fruit nuances but segues to a touch of cinnamon, dried ginger and crushed stone. The beading shows some spice as well, thanks to its sharp persistence."
James Suckling (93)- "A salmon-orange colored sparkling with aromas of raspberries, cherries, grapefruit, toasted brioche and almonds. It’s medium-bodied with tangy acidity and tiny, sleek bubbles. Lovely zestiness and savory, saline character. Bone-dry and fresh. Drink now."
Wine Advocate (94+)- "The most structured and important of these sparkling wines from Contratto, the 2015 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Blanc de Noir Pas Dosé For England opens to a pretty golden appearance with light copper highlights. The bouquet is solid and beautifully put together with equal billing to orchard fruit, crushed stone and toasted almond. This wine is more mineral-driven than it is yeast-driven, and that is the most compelling trait of sparkling wines made in the up-and-coming Alta Langa appellation."
