La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo DOC

The current expression of La Spinetta’s Langhe Nebbiolo is crafted from declassified Barbaresco and Barolo Crus, making it one of the most compelling values in Piemonte. The fruit now comes from the prestigious Barbaresco vineyards of Bordini, Gallina, and Starderi in Neive, as well as Valeirano in Treiso — all renowned for producing complex and age-worthy wines. A small percentage of Nebbiolo also comes from the Garretti Barolo Cru in the historic village of Grinzane Cavour, adding further depth and structure. The wine is racy and beautifully layered, showing vivid notes of red cherry, raspberry, and crushed blueberries, laced with floral highlights, sweet spices, and a subtle minty lift. It’s full-bodied and expressive, yet elegant and polished, offering the charm and complexity of its noble origins in a style meant to be enjoyed young — though it certainly has the bones to evolve gracefully over several years.

La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2023

Vinous Media (92)- "Just bottled, the 2023 Langhe Nebbiolo is terrific. A blend of La Spinetta's four sites (Starderi, Valeirano, Gallina and Campè), the Langhe Nebbiolo is an excellent introduction to the Spinetta range. Black cherry, plum, chocolate, licorice, lavender and dried herbs are all amplified in a succulent, opulent Langhe Nebbiolo that over-delivers."

Jeb Dunnuck (91)- "Bright ruby-hued, the 2022 Langhe Nebbiolo shows off notes of ripe red berries, candied roses, and sweet tea. Medium-bodied, this one’s a crowd pleaser, with all its components moving with ease to the palate, An inviting wine with a supple texture, it will continue to drink well over the next several years."

La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo DOC 2021

Wine Advocate (90)- "The organic La Spinetta 2021 Langhe Nebbiolo reveals medium-rich concentration and bold aromas of dark cherry, wild plum and dried blueberry. That primary fruit is framed by tar, smoke and sweet spice. This is an entry-level Nebbiolo with a bolder style and more concentration than your standard Langhe Nebbiolo. Drink this wine while the fruit is freshest."
