Contratto Pas Dosé Metodo Classico “Millesimato”

The Millesimato has the bright intensity and definition of the highest caliber sparkling wine. A Pinot Noir (~80%) and Chardonnay (~20%) blend, this wine is hand-riddled in the cellar where it ages nearly 5 years before release. In the mouth, it is creamy and rich with fine, soft beading. Abundant honey, apricot and sweet almond meld with notes of lemon mousse and honeydew, resulting in an undeniably delicious and appealing wine.

Contratto Pas Dosé Metodo Classico “Millesimato” 2015

Wine Advocate (93)- "Showing a pale pink appearance, the Contratto 2015 Alta Langa Metodo Classico Millesimato Pas Dosé shows a fine and tight personality that is reinforced by the delicate nature of the beading. To the bouquet, it reveals peach, grapefruit and a touch of baked almond biscuit. The blend is 85% Pinot Nero and 15% Chardonnay."

Contratto Pas Dosé Metodo Classico “Millesimato” 2015

Vinous Media (91)- "Sweet green melon, white flowers and sweet smoke waft up from the 2015 Pas Dosé Metodo Classico Millesimato. This saturates the palate with mineral intensity while also soothing it with a cooling wave of silken bubbles. The 2015 is nutty and rich, but also finely sculpted, with vibrant acidity that maintains fantastic balance. It leaves a salty, savory sensation throughout the mouthwatering finale, as the cheeks pucker to a twang of sour lime. This is a blend of 80% Pinot Nero and 20% Chardonnay that could give many NV bottles of Champagne a run for their money. (Disgorgement L. 12/05/2021)"

Contratto Pas Dosé Metodo Classico “Millesimato” 2014

Decanter (93)- "When Giorgio Rivetti of La Spinetta acquired Contratto in 2011, one of the first things he did was purchase vineyards in Alta Langa. 'Pinot Noir for me is one of the best varieties for Metodo Classico production,' he says, and the altitude of the vineyards enable high quality Pinot Noir to be grown. Aged on its lees for 60 months, the nose is biscuity with a delicious red fruit and mushroom fragrance. The palate is savoury and dry, yet there's a touch of juiciness to the mellow bruised apple, red berry and subtle stone fruit flavours. The acidity is fresh and slightly saline, in no way aggressive. It works so well with the gentle mousse, just caressing your mouth rather than ripping it apart like some younger sparkling wines can do. There's a hint of truffle on the finish, and this would go incredibly well with a wild mushroom risotto. Disgorged 31 January 2020. Drinking Window 2020 - 2026"
