Wine Advocate (90)- "The Malvirà 2015 Roero Riserva Mombeltramo offers candied fruit and even a touch of cherry cough drop with aniseed and licorice. Those spicy licorice tones are present throughout these red wines from Malvirà, and they pop up in a few of the estate's white wines as well. The tannins are silky and integrated, yet that nervous rambunctious quality you get with Nebbiolo is ever present."
International Wine Review (92)- "A classic Nebbiolo from Roero, the single wineyard Mombeltramo reveals intriguing scents of rose petals and tobacco. It offers a silky, medium weight palate of dried red berries with herbal and dark loam notes. Finishes very long with round, firm tannins. Matured in French oak for 24 months. The soil of the 1.5 ha Mombeltramo vineyard is more calcareous than the Trinita vineyard and it's exposition is more easterly. The wines from this vineyard are particularly austere in their first years of life and become softer over time. "
Vinous Media (90)- "The 2013 Roero Riserva Mombeltramo shows terrific freshness to match its lithe, mid-weight personality. Crushed rose petal, sweet red berries cinnamon and mint are nicely delineated in a Roero that speaks to elegance above all else. What a pretty and gracious wine it is."
