The most potent and deeply-colored of the La Spinetta wines, the 2001 Barbaresco Riserva Starderi is an excellent effort from this state. Packed with layers of vibrant super-ripe fruit that coat the palate with notable persistence and depth, as well as expresive aromatics and bold tannins, it i a massively endowed Brabaresco that should drink well to age 20.
