A host of dark cherries, smoke, tobacco, licorice and melted road tar hit the palate in the 2010 Roero Riserva Renesio, while firm tannins convey an impression of masculine intensity. Brooding and earthy, the 2010 is going to need at least a few years in bottle to soften, but it is impressive, even at this early stage.
